Woldingham School was founded in 1842 by the Society of the Sacred Heart — the Catholic religious order founded in France in 1800 by Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat — as a Roman Catholic girls' boarding school. The school operates today on a 700-acre rural campus at Woldingham, Surrey, on the North Downs. The school is girls-only ages 11-18 with a substantial boarding population.
