About Queen's Gate School

Queens Gate School was founded in 1891 as a girls' school on Queens Gate in South Kensington, central London — opposite the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum. The school operates today on the original Queens Gate site and is girls-only ages 4-18. The Headmistress is Rosalynd Kamaryc. The school is a member of the GSA and is inspected by the ISI.

The school's most internationally famous alumnae are the actresses Vanessa Redgrave CBE — winner of the 1977 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress (Julia), Tony Award winner (Long Day's Journey Into Night), Cannes Best Actress (Morgan!) and one of the great English-language theatre actresses of her generation — and her sister Lynn Redgrave OBE — Oscar-nominated for Gods and Monsters (1998). Both were Queens Gate girls in the 1950s. The school operates a substantial bursary programme.
