About Palmers Green High School
Home | About Us About Us All sections of Palmers Green High School, from the Preps (Reception to Year 2) through to the Seniors, enjoy being part of our ‘one school’ community. Throughout, small class sizes and excellent teaching enable rapid progress, and the exciting extra-curricular activities encourage our girls to develop into well-rounded individuals. Preps use the same facilities as the GCSE pupils in some subjects e.g. Art, Music, PE and D&T, and Year 5 and 6 enjoy Science in the laboratories.
Lower School classes from Reception through to Year 6 benefit hugely from the encouragement and expertise of our class teachers and teaching assistants. Light and airy classrooms and access to Senior School facilities all lead to an inspirational learning environment. This is enriched by specialist teaching in Art, Design & Technology, Drama, French, Spanish, Music and PE – frequently in half class groups.
In the Senior School , class sizes drop to an average of only 10 at GCSE, and a broad range of extra-curricular activities enriches the girls’ experience. Girls excel in a wide range of sports, due in part to the excellent facilities available to us at The Walker Ground, Southgate and Southbury Leisure Centres. In 2025, the School’s overall percentage of GCSEs at grades 9-8 was an incredible 48% and 9-7 a fantastic 71% , placing our pupils amongst the top performers in the country. We were delighted to be named The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide’s Independent 11-16 School of the Year for Academic Excellence 2026.
