About Newcastle School for Boys
Following its formation in 2005 from founding schools Ascham House and Newlands School, Newcastle School for Boys is now one of the top independent schools in the North East. From September 2026, we begin a new and exciting chapter, becoming The Newcastle School and welcoming girls into our community for the first time; building on the legacy of Newcastle School for Boys.
As one of the newest schools in the independent sector, Newcastle School for Boys incorporates traditional values whilst preparing all pupils for the changing expectations and pressures of modern life.
