About Mount Kelly
Mount Kelly was founded in 1877 as Kelly College in Tavistock, Devon, on the western edge of Dartmoor National Park. The school subsequently merged with Mount House School (a prep school) in 2014 and was rebranded as Mount Kelly. The school operates today on a 70-acre rural campus and is co-educational ages 3-18 with around 583 pupils and a substantial boarding population. The Head is Guy Ayling. The school is a member of the HMC and the Boarding Schools Association.
Mount Kelly's distinctive co-curricular strength is swimming — the school operates one of the top schoolboy swimming programmes in the United Kingdom, with an Olympic-pathway swimming academy that has produced multiple GB Olympic swimmers and World Championship qualifiers across the past decade. The school's purpose-built competition pool and high-performance training programme make it a destination for serious young swimmers. The school operates a substantial bursary programme.
